About the Upstate HBCU Classic 

We endeavor to create, foster and perpetuate a fond and worthy appreciation for America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities as a primary choice for formal higher education. The Classic weekend events are designed to entertain all, enlighten others and encourage prospective students and parents to take advantage of the rich academic and cultural opportunities inherent in Historically Black Colleges and Universities. We convene community human service organizations; local, regional and national commerce; spirited collegiate athletics and demonstrative performing collegiate bands for a festive weekend full of unity, exposure and purpose. This all culminates in favor of our motto of – Pursuing Excellence in Scholarship, Athletics and Responsibility in OUR Community
